Prince Charles Enjoys His Newcastle Furniture Company Kitchen

November 22, 2012

The Edinburgh arm has recently installed three Newcastle Furniture Company kitchens at the Prince Charles Dumfries House development in Ayrshire.

The Prince’s idea at Dumfries House was to not only retain intact an important piece of Scottish heritage, but to provide a kick-start for the economy of the surrounding area. It will have a café, a guesthouse, wedding and event facilities, and at nearby Knockroon they are creating a newly built housing community, all providing vital employment opportunities for the local residents.

ITV followed Prince Charles' efforts to restore the Ayrshire stately home to its former glory in a documentary, Prince Charles: the Royal Restoration.  Dumfries House is portrayed as an 18th-century gem. Adam-designed and including at least fifty original pieces by Thomas Chippendale – some specially made for the house – along with the finest surviving collection of carved Scottish rococo furniture.

Our hand -painted furniture was specified by the interior designer as the timeless, elegant look it creates blends in perfectly with the original features of the properties.
